Is YOUR Child the next Face of Connie’s Kids?

Hi All & Happy Spring!~ The Model Search is on for the cutest kids in town to model my new fall/winter/holiday styles! 

Is your child the next face of Connie’s Kids? There’s only one way to find out! Submit your child’s photo today for a chance to be featured in Connie’s Kids ads, on banners, and Facebook timeline, as well as being seen worldwide on the Connie’s Kids web site!

To enter your child, email me their name, sex, age, & size they are wearing NOW to connie@connieskids.com. Also include your phone number, although notifications will be done by email.  Please, send no more than 2 photos. They don’t have to be professional, & it can be just a head shot, or full body. Entries must be received no later than Sat, Feb. 27, 2016. Please, DO NOT send me private messages on Facebook, or post on the FB page. Only entries received at the email address provided will be considered.

I can use newborns through size 10, boys and girls, but mostly need infants & toddlers. Brothers & sisters are especially needed, to show off sibling sets. If chosen, you will be notified through email & will be given a selection of outfits to choose from. Due to the logistics of me not having an actual store front anymore, the item your child models will need to be purchased. Your child will then receive a FREE modeling shoot, courtesy of Knox Studios! ($90 value). I can only provide free photo shoots for LOCAL customers, so if you are not local & still want to participate, you will need to provide your own photos. You will be asked to sign a release at Knox Studios to allow us to use your photos in our advertising. These photos will ONLY be used for advertising by Knox Studios and Connie’s Kids. If you wish to purchase any of the photos, they will be available to you at a discounted price.

That’s it! I only need a few models, so please don’t get your feelings hurt if your child isn’t chosen this time around. I have certain sizes & styles to fill, and your child just might not be the right fit this time, but they may work out on the next go round!

I have received so many new spring styles, so I want to get those shot as soon as possible! I am still so excited for this new & thrilling chapter for Connie’s Kids! I can’t do ANYTHING without all of you, so please accept my heartfelt gratitude!

I Need Your Help!

It’s been about a month now, since I decided to stop trying to find something ELSE to do with my life, and realized that my dream of dressing your kids in beautiful clothing is not over.

It is taking a while to get the word out to my customers that we are now selling primarily online, so I am asking for your help. We now have over 6000 Facebook fans, but for each post I make, only about 100 of you are seeing it.  It costs a fortune to advertise on Facebook, Google, etc, so I would like to know what would make it worthwhile for you to help me spread the word? All I am asking is for you to share my Connie’s Kids Facebook posts on your own news feeds.

You are my “Core” customers & friends, and I am willing to compensate you for your assistance, but I need to know HOW you would like to be compensated.

So please, let me know what you want in return. I will take all suggestions into consideration. You can post your response here, on facebook, or shoot me an email at connie@connieskids.com.

With new lower prices, and the new shopping method of letting YOU look through & shop in the vendors actual catalogs, like Lito & Royal Child, & Footmates Shoes, our selection is even GREATER than before! I will be adding new vendors, but have no storage, so need to sell my current inventory before ordering more.
I will do my best to keep my prices LOW, but in all fairness to brick & mortar stores, and our vendors, some items cannot be discounted. But, I WILL purchase over-runs, close-outs, etc, & discount where I can, to save you LOTS on your purchases!
For locals, you will be able to shop many of our items at My Chic’s on Shore Drive. To save you shipping, we are using The Diaper Bag on Battlefield Blvd for pick-up, and that is working out nicely.

*Side note* I joked with many of you about “Working in my pajamas, and it has now become a reality!” 🙂  I miss seeing all of you though, and hope you will continue to stay in contact with me. I love seeing your posts of your kids & grand kids wearing their outfits, and keeping up with your lives. How Can You Miss Me If I Won’t Go Away?

     The past few months have been extremely stressful and trying, and I want you all to know how very much I appreciate all the support you have shown me, and for the store itself. It made closing just that much more difficult though……but in a good way……does that make sense?

     Our “Toast to You” party made me realize just how much a part of my life you have become, and I am just not sure how to move forward without being able to communicate with you, hear about your kids, grand kids, and see pictures of them in all their
Connie’s Kids glory!

……friends like this are hard to find……and worth keeping!

Sooooo, I have decided to keep the store online, and will be adding new styles for spring soon. BUT, it WILL be different. Many of the items I am going to list on the web site or post on the facebook page, will be “Pre-Orders”. That means I will only place the order AFTER you have actually ordered the item. This will avoid the dilemna I was facing on where to keep the inventory once the store was gone. That means it may take a few weeks for you to receive your items. That is the drawback, BUT the advantage is by reducing my overhead expenses, I will be able to sell the items at a lower price than they were in the store & online previously! (that makes it worth the wait, doesn’t it?)  I may also try to buy some “Overstocks” from your favorite lines, selling them at below retail prices. I am also considering doing “trunk shows” at various locations.  Our inventory WILL be more selective, and we won’t have the vast array of styles we had before, but I believe that I will choose the styles you will love, and want to purchase. (Plus, I want you all to give me plenty of feedback as we go along, so I can keep improving the system!) I will need to know what you are looking for, and I will do my best to find it for you.

Supportive customers quickly became precious friends!

     It’s going to take some time to get this all organized, and up and functioning, so I ask that you be patient with the process. I hope it will be worth your wait! I am eager to hear your thoughts on this decision, AND I am ready to hear what you want me to start hunting for! It’s Time.

This is the blog post I have been dreading writing for months.

I have been “on the fence” about how to move forward, and I kept waiting for a clear answer, but unfortunately, the clarity I was hoping for has not come.

I HAD to make the decision of when to close the store though, and I have finally decided that Sat, Jan. 4, 2014 will be our last day of operation.

Many of you are eager to see if you won one of our awesome prizes, and we will be announcing the winners on that day as well. We want to go out with a “Bang”, not a “Whimper”, so I would like to invite all of you; my friends, family, and customers to join us between 3-5pm on Jan. 4th, for a toast to the old, the new, and all the memories you have helped us make over the last 27 years.

You have made us feel like a part of your families, and we have enjoyed watching your children grow, sharing your joyful occasions, and getting to know so many of you on a “more than a customer” basis. I consider so many of you “friends” now, and I will miss seeing you all regularly. I hope to be able to keep up with you on Facebook, and I will still enjoy following your families adventures, and seeing pictures of your children as they grow.

As far as the web site goes, I think we will continue to sell our remaining inventory there, until it is gone. Everything is at LEAST 65% off now, so grab the deals while you can! I still can’t figure out how to keep it going, since I have no place to store inventory. In this day of “Instant everything”, I am not sure I could have a web site where I would have to tell people it may take a week or two to receive their items. I would love to hear your thoughts on this. I have some consignment stores that may want to take everything we have left at the end, so maybe I will shut the web site down completely at that point. I am still trying to figure out a way to keep at least a basic inventory on there. Maybe I am just trying to hold on to something that I just need to let go of. Still waiting for the answer to come.

I will keep posting on our Facebook page, as well as send out emails as these decisions are made.

I truly appreciate the support you have all shown, whether it was by coming by, or sending a thoughtful note. I have read every one & and I cannot tell you how much your words, hugs, and kind gestures mean to me, and they have gotten me through some very trying days.

 Your absence in my daily life will be deeply felt.

You have all been so helpful to me int he past, and I am asking for your help one more time. I am working part-time already in the Social Media field, but am looking for more clients to build that business. (I would love for you to “Like” my new page at Face It Social Media!) I am also interested in any careers involving photography, photoshop, graphic design, web management, or similar. I have always been very successful with  networking, whether it’s to find an employee, or a boyfriend :-), so hoping it will work for me again!

Time to “you-know-what” or get off the pot!

For weeks I have been telling myself I need to sit down and let you all know what is happening with the status of Connie’s Kids. The reason I have not been able to do that is because I have just not been able to “pull the plug”! We are still able to special order, and I am reluctant to reduce items further, because many of our customer services will have to go away. I guess it makes things final….and all too real for my liking.

I have gotten to the point where I realize I am not going to be able to handle this closing on my own. I am going to get help from professionals. It seems to be the only way. I am standing in my own way, and it is just dragging out the inevitable.

I will keep you posted as to what happens next, once I know. My emotions are running all over the map, and I cannot tell you ALL how much your support has meant to me. These have been the happiest 26 years of my life, and I have you all to thank for that.

My new “Face It Social Media” business has taken off, and I do love it, but that doesn’t diminish the sadness I feel over not seeing you all on a regular basis. That is really the hardest part…..I feel like you have all made me a part of your lives, and I can’t imagine life without all of you in it, showing me pictures, telling me stories, and letting me share mine with you. Just when I think I am all cried out, one of you will say something so touching that I start all over again. I am not complaining….It is truly heart warming to hear that you will miss us.

Moving forward, my life is going to be completely different. I am struggling with this more than I thought possible when I wrote my original letter, but I am putting one foot in front of the other. I have faith that what is waiting for me is good, but I will cherish each and every one of the relationships I have had along the way.

Please stay tuned…..I will be letting you know what I decide very soon. I hope you will stop by to say “Good-Bye” before we close our doors forever. I would like the opportunity just to say “Thank You” to each of you in person.
